16 people, including a child, were killed in Russia’s massive overnight missile and drone attack on Ukraine’s capital.
At least 64 others were injured, including 10 children.
The strike hit residential areas. One apartment block in a residential district was struck so hard that an entire entrance of a multi-story apartment block collapsed.
In one dramatic rescue, emergency workers pulled a man out alive after he had been trapped under rubble for hours. He fell from the second floor to the first and was pinned by debris. Rescuers maintained voice contact, broke through a neighbouring wall, and tunneled through to reach him.
Search-and-rescue operations are ongoing at two locations in Kyiv; emergency crews continue working at six more. Medics, psychologists, volunteers, and emergency responders remain on-site.
